This image from Codorus State Park (Pennsylvania) is an experiment in using a somewhat trendy photographic technique in a different context.

High dynamic range (HDR) imaging takes multiple photographs of the same scene with purposely varying exposures and combines them in order to achieve a final result with a range of luminance not possible with one exposure. While there are numerous uses, one current trend in digital photography gives an exaggerated, almost fantastical aura to scenes.

The image above uses the same technique and multiple exposures using an infrared filter. A texture layer was also added.
