August Pollinators

Our area of Pennsylvania (south central) sees some butterfly visits throughout the summer, but we typically see a large increase in numbers once early August arrives. It was a bit delayed this year, but this past week has allowed us to view many more of these beautiful creatures.

The colors and designs of butterflies are often lovely, such as seen on the Common Buckeye shown above. A whole new perspective is often gathered when one zooms in for a closer view, such as detail from the same photograph.

And sometimes we get to see them in action...
